Arohanui Hospice Staff Palmerston North

I gave away $7000 worth of Massage to the incredible staff from 2013 to 2017.

Website: http://www.arohanuihospice.org.nz/

This Hospice is near where I grew up, and I had an old school friend who passed in 2011 which was so sad, and I had never had anything to do with a Hospice until then.

The Hospice runs mostly on Donations and Volunteers, its only the Drs, Nurses and Care Staff, 1 cook and 1 Laundry and Cleaning leader that are paid. The cook, the laundry head, then manage the countless volunteers to do daily tasks 7 days a week. On top of that the gardens surrounding are amazing and tranquil.

This is a very intense place, as you can imagine, there is so much sadness with loss, every day, but equally, there is integrity, support, kindness and a feeling of flexibility and non judgemental to support the sadness

The staff that work there, cope with that, daily. I think that it’s an incredibly import service to the community, and I am proud to be a small part of supporting it, in the way I can, with Massage, to make the staff feel good, feel treated, and feel treasured. I go down 2x a year, and Massage for 3 days, I do 18 massages and its really rewarding.

I will continue to honor my personal commitment to the Hospice, for as long as I can, to give back to the staff that work on these front lines, all the time. I am into my 4th year, Rebecca Dodson

Saving Huey Foundation

Webisite: https://www.savinghuey.org/

“Saving Huey Foundation is committed to bringing awareness to and exposing the brutality of dog fighting and other forms of animal abuse. Our mission is to educate the public of the atrocities that animals endure at the hands of human beings. We are committed to creating and fostering a love for animals at a young age by implementing Huey’s Heroes Reading Program in any shelter willing to use it.”

The stories sometimes are so full of violence, neglect and of such mistreatment, I can barely look on some days. Other days, I am brave, and read through, you can almost bet your going to cry, yet she soldiers on, and keeps fighting against dog fighting, animal cruelty. I think she is one of the bravest and most courageous woman I have ever heard about.

West Auckland Massage and Beauty Home Clinic Supports Young Woman

I give away treatments, each week, my focus is for young woman that could not normally afford a massage for what ever reason. I do this, to hopefully create a feeling of support, and also hopefully some change for the better with the actual treatments. I often give one person up to 10 massages. This is more rewarding than I could of thought, being an older woman, I find this a positive thing to do, to try and make living in NZ, a bit easier.

I also gift Massage Vouchers to woman’s sporting groups for fundraising, that’s local to West is Best!

I sponsor a young up and coming athlete whose doing really well. He is trained by a coach from my BNI group, and we are helping him to achieve his goals! Its easy to do, he LOVES his athletics. We are glad to help him and support the lovely family :)I am a Member of Massage New Zealand and I offer rebates for Massage for those with Southern Cross Health Packages, its an extra package, where you pay more to get more.
